I love Christmas and I happen to live with someone that loves Christmas even more than I do. He comes from a family that starts Christmas decorating before they host Thanksgiving dinner. It is beautiful there. I am a firm believer in waiting until after Christmas to start decorating because I think we need to honor each holiday individually. That being said on the Friday after Thanksgiving the Christmas music comes on and the decorations start to go up.
Being an Oregonian I happen to love the tradition of going out to a tree farm and picking out the perfect tree. Since I am very picky I have always gotten the last word on which "The One". This year because if conflicting and very busy schedules we couldn't make it to a tree farm so we did the next best thing - a parking lot. booo. The tree we picked out was very nice though and we got candy canes, so I can't complain.

Last year some of our lights burned out so we had to make a run to Target to get more and I found this awesome tree topper!
There is something so beautiful about the tree with lights and nothing else, I almost wanted to leave it this way. I prefer warm white lights to the cool white. It just seems more festive and with it being so cold outside I don't want to feel cold inside too.
Now we added the ornaments!!! We have a collection of homemade, sentimental, and new.
And this is our finished tree, except for the gifts I need to wrap to go under the tree.

Pearl seems to like the tree too!
How do you decorate your tree?

Do you have a real tree or an artificial tree?

Love Joy Peace,
